My focus is working with people who experience anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. I work with a wide range of age groups to identify and practice interventions that make sense for symptom reduction. For couples, I employ Gottman strategies in my approach. I work on a variety of issues that include alternative life styles, where I cultivate a sex positive and non-judgmental approach. For individuals, I vary my approach based on the client needs but take an integrative approach to the counseling process that includes aspects of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief therapy, and Narrative Therapy techniques. I mix strength-based strategies along with mindfulness and behavioral exploration to encourage self-awareness while promoting growth and change.
In addition to helping with anxiety, depression, and relationship issues, I have experience with assisting in new situations that occur and may require adjustment in lifestyle. My approach is empathetic and clients are encouraged to reflect on their strengths while developing tools to ensure life balance and harmony.
I have experience with the inner workings of young children as they evolve intellectually at a rate that surpasses their emotional age.
